The Rams continued their busy offseason Monday on the day the team’s offseason and conditioning program began.
Linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar, who started 13 regular-season games for the Saints last season, became the eighth free agent the Rams have added since the March 13 beginning of the league year. He signed a two-year contract. Dunbar started nine games at strong-side linebacker plus one playoff game. Smith set a club record for the New York Giants in 2009 with 107 receptions and was in the Pro Bowl as an injury erplacement for Arizona wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. His 1,220 yards that season were the second-most in team history.
However, in 2010, he suffered a knee injury that eventually required microfracture surgery. That season, he played just nine games and had 48 receptions for 529 yards.

Lawrence J. MoranMr. Softli,
I enjoy catching you on 101 ESPN when I am in town. I would like your take on the Gregg Williams/Kevin Demoff/NFL investigation regarding the "bounty" program. I played four years of college ball at Langston University and almost four years in the NIFL. I am now a law student (mid-career changer) who doesn't buy Goddell's bologna or Gregg Williams or Kevin Demoff's statements today. I know that this has been part of the NFL culture for decades and I believe that in regards to attempting to seriously injure or kill a player for payment is a felony and these individuals need to be charged under the same statutes that were used about a decade ago in the NHL. (Let's not even go there). I believe that Demoff, Williams and any other individuals who had knowledge of this program need to be 1. Terminated immediately; 2. Have all of their benefits and pensions taken from them and 3. Barred from the Hall of Fame.
Now I know that the likelyhood of any of these three options are going to take place as that would (under my theory) place Goddell in that basket as well. This is a character issue. It is not just a legal issue or an NFL rules/policy issue. When Gregg Williams statement read, "I will never participate in any behavior of this type again" I literally coughed up my water laughing. This man's integrity is shot along with Kevin Demoff's (whose character has been suspect in my mind for a while of late).
Please, Mr. Softli, be as politically-incorrect as you can (to keep your employment) but I would like to hear a former NFL executive's opinion on this matter. There are so many atrocities that are wrapped up in this scandal I don't even know where to ask you to begin. How about from your heart.
Thanks,
Lawrence J. Moran, M.S.
Lawrence J. MoranPp 2: I meant to say the likelyhood is going to be "next to nothing." - Lawrence
Kate BellLawrence I'm surprised at your outrage. Am I outraged? Only kinda. I'm outraged that it's a part of the culture but I'm not surprised that it is. I think you have to be careful about firing, banning, and basically eliminating everyone who had knowledge of this kind of behavior - because these guys seem to be the scape goats. As time is gifted and this story unfolds - countless other names will be thrown into the same bag of scruitiny. Although i fully believe this behavior HAS to stop - I think we need to also be careful of how it is handled. Surprisingly I despise barbarianism, but on some level this is expected. Some of the terminology is atrocious - but I was paid to get all A's as a student. The job of these men is to literally destroy one another...
I get the argument and I HATE the idea of intentionally putting someone on a stretching. I just don't know that having money on it really changes the way these guys hit. How much do we all love the "JACKED UP" segment with Berman... say the intent is to hit someone so hard you wind up there. Either way it's a reward. We celebrate it other places than just in the lockerroom... like the national media for example. The harder the hit the more times they re-run the segment.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) - David Perron scored the winning goal in the shootout to lift the St. Louis Blues to a 3-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.
Perron moved in on Chris Mason in the fourth round and roofed a backhander, ruining the Jets' rally from a two-goal deficit.
Perron and David Backes scored in regulation for St. Louis, which led 2-0 after the opening period despite getting outshot 16-6. Jaroslav Halak made 39 saves to pick up the win.

t’s hyperbole time of the year, and some of the numbers being put up at the Combine by offensive linemen have been outstanding.
Tackle Matt Kalil, considered the best tackle in the draft, measured in a 6-6 5/8 and 306 pounds with 34 ½-inch arms. His unofficial 40 times were 4.96 and 5.00, but more important, he had a 1.70 split over 10 yards, which is what Jake Long registered at the 2008 Combine.
The NFL network’s Mike Mayock called the split “phenomenal.” Kalil also did 30 reps in the bench press

INDIANAPOLIS - The Rams are certainly a team that has their eyes on wide receiver Justin Blackmon. Just like many teams.
If the Rams aren’t able to trade the second pick in the draft, Blackmon would be an option at second overall. He would remain an option even if they traded and remained in the top 10.
General manager Les Snead said Friday it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the team would identify a player they absolutely want with the second pick and would do that rather than make a deal.

Quantize Analysis by Adam Gabriel
It is that time of year where all 32 teams migrate to Indianapolis for the yearly NFL combine. Many NFL scouts and player personnel executives start to struggle with mentally weighting various facets that go into ranking players for the NFL draft. For example, how much value should players with fast 40 times receive versus slower players? You would expect that if the 40 really is a good measure of future success, players with fast 40 times at the Combine would go on to have good careers. But it is difficult to know just how much weight to place on a test through human observation... read more
